New York State of Mind

With almost 50,000 participating runners and an even bigger number of almost 3 million spectators from around the globe, the ING New York City Marathon has proven to be one of the biggest, if not, the most celebrated marathon in the world. It’s a one-day sporting event that has become a well-anticipated tradition among sports enthusiasts and professional athletes alike since 1970. On November 3, 2013, the festive running event will return with Timex as its official timekeeper. And of course, with great pride, Timex Philippines is more than excited to cheer for its two official Filipino delegates: fitness couple Anthony and Maricel Pangilinan. Recently, in an intimate media send-off at Lorenzo’s Way in Taguig City, the Pangilinans, together with Coach Rio dela Cruz (who would have to give up his slot to attend to his wife) gamely shared fondest stories on different marathons they have participated in. Coach Rio, and Anthony, who are no strangers to the New York marathon, talked about firsthand recollections on what the big sporting event was like. Armed and ready, the Pangilinans are set to wave the Filipino flag as they are geared to join the grand festive event of the running world.

Systema says: Life's a Ball

It was the kind of ball that nobody expected. The first Life Ball for Systema is definitely a remarkable affair. The Japanese toothpaste brand was introduced to the press last night in what seems to be a big celebration of life - connected to the brand's idea of getting Ready for Life.

The big affair was held in Whitespace, Pasong Tamo, Makati City showing a unique, clean, and modern space. Four life coaches gave inspirational speeches that gave everyone a pep-up. Rags 2 Riches' Reese Ruiz gave her brief talk with Anthony Pangilinan and Pia Acevedo. Systema's endorser, Sam Milby then showed everyone what it takes to be life-ready before the big upbeat mixes of DJ Nina Saputil revved up the celebration! Fun night! Fun talks! One-of-a-kind ball!!

Men's Health Launch

The moment Joseph Marco’s Men’s Health cover for October got posted online, I knew it would sell like pancakes. And what better way to signal the beginning of this magazine success (I swear, no bias!), than to launch it to coincide with the birthday celebration of Joseph.

Recently, at Wildflour Café and Bakery in Taguig City, a few friends from the media, fashion showbiz and ABS-CBN executive and creative team, joined Joseph in a special launch like no other. An added laurel on his already handsome resume, Joseph lands on the cover for the second time, a far cry from his then promising career as a new matinee idol in the making.

Now, with a successful teleserye that just ended and with another one in the works, Joseph graces his new cover a more matured man. Guests enjoyed a casual dinner with free copies of the October issue of the men’s lifestyle magazine.
