Lazada gives a surprise for Pinoy Payday

It's hard saving up nowadays especially if you're not wise with your money. But for us Filipinos, it's often thought that there is this unofficial tradition that we either have to splurge on our first paycheck or give it to our parents to attract good luck. Surprisingly though, I recently found out that a lot of us ultimately splurge ourselves on food instead of other items through the country's number one online shopping website, Lazada (lazada.com.ph).

Based on its recent online surveys, payday for Filipinos is more about food than anything else as 47.4% of the participants say they spend the same with payday meals and regular meals, while 26% spend on 21% claim to spend twice as much on payday meals. Also, 55% of the respondents reported they spend their first paycheck on treating their family to a lunch or dinner while 37.5% immediately associate any bonus salary to treating their family to a meal, sometimes dreading the day when their families, friends and even on some occasions, their co-workers ask for a payday "blowout".

But for most, the rest of the earnings go to bills! Or at least majority of it, as 74% of respondents say that during the 15th and 30th are mostly the time to pay their dues. 88% say that bills (electricity, water, phone, rent, credit card) take up the bulk of their salaries and it really doesn't help at all that 54% of them have experienced salary deduction due to lateness or absence. It also doesn't help that many of us Filipino workers experience nuisance just to get our salary from ATMs traffic. I mean, imagine the long lines! According to Lazada, 24% of respondents say that payday traffic bothers them most while 15% mention that mall overcrowding is also a huge turn off for ready spenders. Especially for us ladies who are ready to shop till we drop.

Oh! And speaking of which, Lazada also revealed that majority of shoppers are females during paydays as most items sold are in the health and beauty category. Well a girl has always got to look her best. Am I right, ladies? Besides, people still have to allocate a little extra for the small ticket essentials to look and feel good about themselves.

But with all the hassle and bustle of paydays, it's a good thing e-commerce has helped lighten the load of payday inconvenience. Lazada for instance, allows customers to look for best value items without having to go through the ATM lines or the mall crowds. Lazada also offers deferred payment options to give Filipinos more choices on how to manage their hard-earned cash.
And to help bring the feeling of shopping spree satisfaction on payday, Lazada is launching its Payday Sale this May 30 to June 2. A wide assortment of products such as quality bags, electronic gadgets, accessories, etc. and flash sales are up to 85% off. Plus, great deals can be expected on items such as the AVR Box Virtual Reality 3D Glass, a Casio Youth Digital Men’s Stainless Watch and an Ace 32” Slim LED TV! You can get a chance to win surprise goodies on the Lazada official Facebook page, as well.

Can't wait till my next online shopping spree! To know more about the Lazada Payday Sale, you can visit www.lazada.com.ph or download the Lazada mobile app for free.

Havaianas honors Japanese roots at MYOH 2016

I looove Japan! Everything from its majestic landscapes, spot-on fashion trends, advanced technologies, exquisite food and perfectly preserved traditions are inspirations to me. So when I heard that Havaianas will be launching its 11th Make Your Own Havaianas with a Japanese theme at the SM Mega Mall Fashion Trade Hall I told myself I really needed to check this out. Then I became even more ecstatic as it finally came true when Havaianas invited me to its official MYOH launch on April 21!

But, if you’re probably wondering -- "Why Japanese?", then try to take a look at the little rice straw patterns on each Havaianas pair. These are actually the marks of its Asian heritage as our favorite flip-flop brand was conceptualized with the Japanese Zori, flat thonged sandals made of straw and fibers!  And this year, to commemorate its proud eastern legacy MYOH kicked off with a Japanese Shibori (ancient dyeing technique) theme.
Besides the fact that I got my very own customized Shibori patterned Havaianas flippies, it took a while for me to decide which pins to get as the new pins were all so kawaii! But in the end, I got myself the cute robot and ninja pins I really enjoyed the taking pictures in the Instagram booth, stamping away in the Shibori-stamping area and even made my own Shibori-inspired bracelet too!
Things got even more exciting as some of our favorite idols and celebrities graced the event. What's more, PBB 737’s cutest love team Bailey May and Ylona Garcia, lovely Julia Barretto, Sports idols Kiefer Ravena, Mika Reyes and Jeron Teng, Laura Lehmann and Von Pessumal joined the fun as this year’s proud celebrity assemblers!

And because Havaianaticos all over the country cannot wait to make their own Havaianas, MYOH has officially opened to selected All Flip-Flops branches nationwide! Check out the following in Metro Manila: Corte de las Palmas in Alabang Town Center, G/F North Wing in SM Mall of Asia, All Flip-Flops Bonifacio High Street, All Flip-Flops TriNoma, and All Flip-Flops Robinsons Ermita. In the provinces, drop by: All Flip-Flops SM City Baguio, All Flip-Flops SM City Cabanatuan, All Flip-Flops SM City Calamba, All Flip-Flops SM City Tarlac, All Flip-Flops SM City Iloilo, All Flip-Flops SM City Bacolod, All Flip-Flops SM Seaside City Cebu, SM Lanang Premier, and SM City Cagayan de Oro Activity Center.

It's really thanks to this year's Make Your Own Havaianas,  I was able to once again walk into the  Land of the Rising Sun with fashionably new flip-flops!

Moms reign at Lazada.com this Mother's Day

Mother's day is just around the corner and let's not let this holiday pass by without showing our love and appreciation to that one person who gave us the opportunity to experience the greatest gift called life. Yes, cheers to  Mom!

Oh! Speaking of gifts and celebrations, Lazada (www.lazada.com.ph), the country's one stop shopping and selling destination, recently conducted a survey among the members of its Lazada Super Moms and main FB page and here's what it found:
When it comes to music and entertainment, the popularity of local band Eraserheads (40%) beats out international bands, Coldplay and U2. For Hollywood crushes, Brad Pit wins the heartthrob list over Leonardo DiCaprio (24%), George Clooney (11.6%) and Richard Gere (10.9%).
It's mom's time to reign this month so you can treat her highness this month by visiting www.lazada.com.ph or by dowloading the mobile app for free and shop from there.
Apparently, Lazada moms are Vilmanians at heart with 69% of respondents saying she is the best representation of a mother, winning over other showbiz icons Sharon Cuneta, Dawn Zulueta and Jaclyn Jose.

It looks like moms are more active than ever before as almost three (71%) out of four respondents prefer using an Android over an iOS considering  the limitless number of mom apps available.

When it comes to mommies' wardrobe essentials, function rules over femininity as moms prefer wearing shorts (45.3%) as their comfy #OOTD, with jeans as a close contender (43.7%) especially now that it's super hot this summer! Baby wipes top their survival kit must have (36.0%) to take out.

Super moms are great life and money savers as they are always on the lookout for great deals and sales. In online shopping, they look forwards to buying products brundles and use discount vouchers especially during seasonal sales. They aren't afraid to scrimp on themselves either as 36% described themselves as part of the Health and Beauty category. 58% even prefer fruit and veggie diets over depriving themselves of sweets or rice. Surprisingly, 41.2% prefer staycations over out of the town getaways.  Now, I'm sure dads get a big sigh of relief especially when they're pretty much on a tight budget. Am I right, daddies? Ha!

Of course since it's almost that special day for all you moms (even titas) out there, Lazada is treating all of you with its Mother's Specials until May 5, 2016, where a wide assortment of products (from kitchenware, cameras, gadgets, etc.) are up to 80% off! Lazda is also making special flower deliveries possible on Mother's Day for its first 400 customers who would be pre-ordering on or before 5:00pm on May 6.
