Give the gift of Timex this Christmas!

It's almost time for the merriest holiday of the year--- Christmas! And I know a lot of us would definitely be busy making plans for this wonderful season. I'm pretty sure we'd all want to look our best while we're making the best out of every second.

That's why I was so excited when the new Timex Fall-Winter 2015 Collection finally came out last November. They really have chic and classic statement pieces that would go well with people of all kinds of lifestyle. Whether you enjoy fancy parties or the wild outdoors,  this collection has something for everyone and they make really great gifts, too!

The Timex Chesapeake is a very nice choice for that perfectly classy gentleman in your life. They say this watch is all about confidence and I can see why. With its fancy polished mineral glass lens paired with either a stainless steel bracelet or a stitched black or brown leather strap, this fancy timepiece completes the 'top gun' look. On the other hand, the Timex Easton Avenue paired with either a black or brown leather straps or a stainless steel bracelet could definitely match well with the more hip and fashionable type of man with all the charisma.

with Timex Easton Avenue in silver
Of course, this collection offers something for us ladies, too! I really looove how the Timex Ashland is such a treasure with Swarovski crystals and genuine mother of pearls decorated around the lens. This watch also comes in tones of gold, rose gold, silver and in two-tone combination of silver and gold.

Tola likes her Timex Ashland in gold-tone. She's simply gorgeous!

If you're looking for a little something that fits that big-city man with an active lifestyle, the Timex Metropolitan+ can be the perfect gift. This analog watch has a sleek-looking activity tracking band that tracks the steps, calories and distance you're making which can be monitored by syncing the data through Bluetooth in an iOS or Android device. On the other hand, if you want something with a little more color but fit for the active routine, then the Timex Ironman Essential 10 in full-size, which is available in various neon colors, is lightweight, comfortable and waterproof.

Tyson's the total urbanite as he wears the
           chic Timex Metropolitan+

Tola and Carlo are ready for a workout at the gym with their Timex Essential 10 in full-size
But if it's for the complete sports fanatic and total outdoorsman and woman, then you can opt for either the Timex Expedition Grid Shock, which, as the name implies, is shock absorbent and water resistant and has INDLIGLO night-light, perfect for those 'after-dark' activities; or the Timex Expedition Scout that can be paired with a light brown leather strap or blue or red color checkered straps, the perfect timepiece for that outdoor vintage cowboy and cowgirl.

Time for some really extreme skateboarding for Carlo
and his Timex Expedition Grid Shock in camouflage

The cowboy look really suits Dimitri! Especially when he pairs it with his Timex Expedition Scout
Timex has really made time glisten and glow for everyone this upcoming Christmas season, thanks to its new 2015 Fall-Winter Collection. Merry Christmas, Timex!

Launch of Havaianas Filipinas 2015 brings the ultimate Pinoy throwback

When I look back on my childhood, I can't help but notice all the changes, especially now that we live in the age of digital technology.

While I think that this is a good thing, sometimes it also makes me want to go back to the good ol’ days, when I don’t need a ton of gadgets to entertain myself. This was exactly what I got when I attended the Havaianas Filipinas 2015 launch last Nov. 25 – a nostalgic throwback!

Bright lovely rustic atmosphere filled the hall as lawn furniture, colorful graffiti walls, and Filipino street food carts were placed around the venue.  Add to that a very cute VW Combi, and I felt like literally being thrown back in time!

Themed LakbayLasap and Laro, in collaboration with contemporary Filipino artists -- letterer Abbey Sy, crafter and designer Alessandra Lanot and digital artist Patrick Cabral -- the event featured tons of exciting activities that every guest enjoyed to the fullest!

And as the first theme by Abbey Sy, Lakbay, would convey it, a VW Combi coupled with street signs, was the perfect set up for that fun, playful and dauntless spirit. After all, what is life without living it adventurously, right? And where else would it be perfect to start than around the wonders of our own motherland?

For the second theme designed by Alessandra Lanot, Lasap, we were given the perfect emblematic experiences - a taste of yummylicious sorbetes sa pandesal, a sip of cool sago gulaman or pandan, and a spoonful of sweet, sweet taho. People my age all enjoyed scouring the streets for a bite of fish ball or banana cue;  waking up in the morning, hearing the vendor calling out "Taho! Taho!" and running out, grabbing the first coins we could find, hoping to catch a taste of this sweet drink; and in the afternoons, patiently (restlessly) waiting for manong sorbetero to ring his bell, hoping he hasn’t ran out of our favorite chocolate, cheese or ube sorbetes.

The last but definitely not least theme designed by Patrick Cabral, Laro, was inspired by the outdoor games of yesteryears. We'd recall the sounds of fun and laughter as we join other children outside playing tumbang preso, piko, patintero and the classic rock-paper-scissors or in tagalog, bato bato pick. So to bring back the thrill and joy of those days, Havaianas set up the Pinoy games booth, where we tried outdoing each other as we toss our slippers to see who gets the farthest in tumbang preso

The Havaianas Filipinas 2015 launch was definitely a throwback thriller for us grown-ups but still very young at heart. It was also an interesting and fun-filled adventure for the younger generations, who are growing up at the peak of the digital age. I mean, even Project Runway mentor Tweetie de Leon-Gonzalez and fitness expert mommy Maricel Pangilinan had a go at tumbang preso while enjoying street food! Lifestyle columnist Tessa Prieto-Valdes along with models LA Aguinaldo, Tola Orendain and Dimitri Tolenaars were all smiles and laughter as well at the Combi van. I just wished my nephews and nieces were there too so they could have experienced what it was like to be their age during my childhood days.

Thank you so much, Havaianas Philippines, for helping my inner child relive the fun and joy of those glory days!
