Rated 10: Tenface Hotel in Bangkok

The most famous lyrics about Bangkok are: "oriental city where the city don't know what the city is for" which imply that there is a manic chaos and wildness to the place. And there is a seed of truth to that, but there are corners of absolute tranquility in this Thai capital.

Secluded and sexy are the two words that come to mind when I reminisce about Tenface Hotel in Bangkok. It is in a lovely narrow residential street, so it feels super private and cozy. Tenface is a character in an ancient Thai epic which gives the hotel a distinct sense of place; scenes from the epic decorate the hotel's cafe. Color scheme is predominantly black and white so it has a chic cocoon vibe.

Shuttle service (tuktuk), Tenface version.

The wires and bulbs give off an art installation feeling.

The pool is insinuated into the back facade of the hotel.

The draped beds are subtly, quietly luxurious.
Sawatdee ka, Bangkok! I'll see you soon!
