The Notebook

Even with all the mania for tweeting, texting, and yes, blogging, nothing beats that sweet sensory moment when you actually put pen (or pencil) to paper, and let your thoughts flow from mind to hand to page. There's something still so satisfying with seeing your abstract mental meanderings concretized in your own handwriting.

And it's even more fun when you have a clever, quirky notebook to record your thoughts.  Then you can even make your friends part of the fun by asking them to be part of your notebooks.  Thus the notebook becomes it's very own social network.

How to explore life is full of exercises to change how you view the world, and how each moment of life can become a discovery. And the this book will change your life series is practically a business empire, proof that even with all the advances in technology, writing by hand will never die.

Why 642? I've no clue. Basta when I bought it, it's 642, let's just follow. :)

Any ideas?

Perfect for those who have trouble remembering V-days!

Perfect for remembering good ol' friends.
Perfect for remembering birthdays... again!

Again?

Follow, follow, follow!

Keel's Simple Diary makes journaling stress free. You don't even have to summarize your days, just check sound bites to describe each day. I make my friends and family choose random pages, and it is quite amusing to see what they write.

So far I've met Stella McCartney, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks and Marc Jacobs (in my dreams. :))

Brad Pitt, Geaorge Clooney, Merylle Streep, Jesse Eisenberg (in another dream. :))

The Smythson series of "I've met" books comes in versions that highlight celebrities, fashionistas and the like.  Check out the Smythson site for all the variations of their notebooks. It will make organizing your life a sheer joy.

The questionnaire to end all questionnaires is the Proust questionnaire. It has been the end page of Vanity Fair magazine  for two decades now. Choose your smartest, wittiest, craziest friends, and be entertained by their answers.

...I want you to finish reading this blog!

You don't have to stop at writing.  Scan photos and make collages, save train tickets or even steal a menu or two and tuck them into your notebooks.  Buy colored tape to add texture and trimmings to the pages.  With notebooks like these, your inner self can be noted in the best possible way.
