White Lace and Promises

"We've only just begun to live / white lace and promises
A kiss for luck and we're on our way."

There are moments when the stars align and everything just comes out right. A week ago, my younger brother AG wed the love of his life, Bibai Gaisano, who is not just now my sister in law, but one of my best friends and a person I consider a style inspiration. She had an exquisite vision in her mind of a timeless celebration, taking elements of Art Deco and Old Hollywood, to create a fresh and young take on glamour. And it was certainly a night to remember.

I recommended genius designer Joey Samson, and in a lovely instance of congruence so did stylist Sidney Yap, one of Bibai's closest friends, who also took the photos shown here. And of course, my ever dearest friend Anton Barretto turned the Camp John Hay Golf Club into an ethereal and elegant marquee. But more than just the wonderful flowers and chic looks, it was all about love and hope; that glorious feeling of being surrounded by family and friends, and knowing that life is worth living.

My nephew Vito Romulo Puyat, AG's fifteen year old godson said it best, "Life is a puzzle, and we are just looking for the pieces that fit. Now, Tito AG and Tita Bibai don't have to look anymore." There was not a dry eye in the house after he said that, but most definitely tears of the deepest joy!

Love love love!
Joey Samson created a dress that combined contemporary architectural lines, especially in the stunning skirt and corseted bodice , with a traditional overall look.

Sparkly Jimmy Choos, found on a bachelorette trip to Hong Kong with her bridesmaids and maid of honor.

Mercedes Benz customized the plates for a quirky cheeky touch!
Posing with her bridesmaids on a four poster daubed, in the cocktail area (pang-Vanity Fair cover).

The menu.

Very elegant set up by my dear friend Anton Barretto.
Here comes the newly weds!

Alyanna Martinez with the bride.

Angelette Calero, Anton Baretto and me.
Roy Macam and Sydney Yap
At the reception, Bibai changed into a strapless dress with detailing taken from Art Deco architecture.

And since we all know that the best moments in life all deserve a little Karen Carpenter, I wish the newlyweds that just as in the song Every Day will be a Beautiful Beginning.

"As the evening comes, we smile / so much of life ahead / we'll find a place where there's room to grow."
